Idyllwild Resurfacing Projects

PROJECT OVERVIEW

In early August 2023, the Riverside County Transportation Department will begin a resurfacing project on various roadways in Idyllwild. The project will grind and  resurface about five miles of roadway on four streets. Construction is expected to  continue through October 2023. Work is planned on the following streets/locations, please see the map for details: Saunders Meadow Drive, South Circle Drive, North Circle Drive, Fern Valley Road, the County Maintenance Yard and Lawler Park/Alpine Cabins.

The County of Riverside Transportation Department will be resurfacing 4 areas in Idyllwild area, as well as reconstructing the Idyllwild Maintenance Yard. Construction on these projects is set to begin in Summer 2023.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Motorists can expect lane closures during construction with flaggers assisting vehicles through the closures. Residential and business driveway access will remain open.

The Humber Park parking lot will be closed for approximately14 days in October during construction  of the proposed retaining wall on the south side of Fern Valley Road near the entrance.

Parking will not be permitted on Fern Valley Road during the closure. 

PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLIST access will also be closed.
