Ramon Rd Resurfacing

Limits: Varner Road to Monterey Avenue
Length: Approximately 4,320 feet
District: 4
Community: Thousand Palms

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 4,320 feet of Ramon Road from Varner Road to Monterey Avenue. Ramon Road is classified as an arterial road in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Ramon Road is a four lane road that is 86 feet wide, separated by a concrete median, with curb/gutter along both sides of the roadway. The proposed project will include cold planing the roadway width, and overlaying with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). The westbound no. 2 lane between Varner Road and Thelma Ave, as well as the intersection of Ramon Rd and Varner Rd, will be reconstructed by fully removing the roadway and placing back HMA.

The proposed project will also include:

· Addition of bike lanes

· Repairs to damaged sidewalk, curb and gutter, and center median

· Utility adjustments

· Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will remain within the existing footprint of the roadway.
