Ramona /Cajalco Expressway interchange is a gateway into the unincorporated area of the County and the City of Perris. Significant Growth in the area has increased traffic beyond the capacity of the previous interchange which was heavily congested during the peak hours of operation. The interchange improvements increase capacity and improve the daily operation for current and future traffic volumes and facilitates the movement of heavy truck traffic through the interchanges.
The improvements consisted of widening the existing bridge on each side to accommodate a total of four lanes of traffic, sidewalk and shoulders. This improvement also widened the existing diamond interchange northbound and southbound off –ramps.
