Rancho California Road Roundabout Resurfacing Project

Project Overview

Description

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to reconstruct approximately 3,000 linear feet of roadway at the Rancho California Road and Anza Road Roundabout which includes 1,700 linear feet along Rancho California Road and 1,300 linear feet along Anza Road.  Rancho California Road is classified as a Mountain Arterial and Anza Road is classified as Major Arterial.  Rancho California Road is a 48 foot, two lane road within 110 feet of right of way and Anza Road is a 48 foot, two lane road within 118 feet of right of way.  The proposed project will include: removal of the existing asphalt and aggregate base and placing back Hot Mix Asphalt, aggregate base, and subgrade enhancement fabric to reconstruct the pavement section on the roadways.

The project also proposes to construct a temporary detour road to connect the westerly leg of the intersection (Rancho California Rd) to the northerly leg (Anza Rd). After construction is completed the temporary detour road will be fully removed and the area disturbed will be fully restored to it’s original condition. During construction the temporary roadway will be operated and maintained by the County’s contractor at the County’s direction.

In addition, detours will be provided for eastbound/westbound Rancho California Road thru traffic and northbound Anza Road connecting to eastbound or westbound Rancho California Road during construction and closure of the roundabout.

 Additional improvements include:

·         Reconstruction of damaged curb and/or curb/gutter

·         Utility adjustments

·         Striping of roadway
