Resurfacing Projects

Cajalco Road Resurfacing

The Riverside County Transportation Department proposes to resurface approximately 5,600 feet of Cajalco Road from 665 feet east of Kirkpatrick Road to Harley John Road. Cajalco Road is a classified as a Rural Major Collector Road in the County of Riverside General Plan. Cajalco Road is a two lane road that varies from 32-55 feet wide with dike on both sides of the roadway. The proposed improvements consist of cold planning the roadway, applying crack treatment, and overlaying Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete dike and overside drain

  • Placement of shoulder backing

  • Detector loops

  • Repairing damaged guardrails

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way or temporary construction easements will be required to construct the proposed improvement. The project improvements will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.10 feet.

Construction Start: June 2018
