Resurfacing Projects

Rancho California Road Resurfacing

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 4,750 feet of Rancho California Road from Monte De Oro Road to Buck Road. Rancho California Road is classified as a Mountain Arterial Highway in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Rancho California Road currently is a two lane road and currently ranges from 27-64 feet wide. The proposed project will include pulverizing the roadway, removing a portion of the pulverized material, and lastly overlaying Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt (RHMA) over Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional work includes:

·         Reconstruction of asphalt concrete overside drain, dike, and some driveways
·         Reconstruction of concrete cross gutter and spandrel
·         Construction of some asphalt concrete driveways
·         Placement of shoulder backing and safety edge
·       Utility adjustments
·         Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors
·         Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.17 feet.
