Sycamore Canyon Boulevard nighttime roadway rehabilitation project to begin the week of October 2, 2023

Project Overview

The County of Riverside Transportation Department will rehabilitate Sycamore Canyon Boulevard from Central Avenue to just north of College Boulevard during a 30-day nighttime project. Sycamore Canyon Boulevard is a two-lane road that serves as a primary corridor through the University City community in

Riverside County’s District 1. The project will begin in October 2023 and will remove existing asphalt; reconstruct damaged curb and gutter; upgrade the existing curb ramp at College Boulevard to American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant standards; adjust utilities; repave and restripe the roadway; and install new signs. The contractor will complete these roadway improvements during nighttime work, Monday through Sunday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

What to expect

•        Nighttime work with traffic control and lane closures is planned. Flagging operations will assist motorists through the construction area.

•        Expect a 55-hour, full road closure with detours during one weekend of the project. The date is pending the contractors’ schedule.

•        Neighbors may experience common construction-related noise including beeping, vehicle engines and workers’ conversations.
