Clinton Keith Road - Weekly Status Week of 1/8/24

Clinton Keith Road connecting Leon Road and Winchester Road (SR 79) in the French Valley/City of Murrieta is OPEN. The traffic signal at Leon Road is activated with new traffic patterns for Clinton Keith Road eastbound traffic (two left turn lanes for Leon Road and three straight through for Clinton Keith Road). The contractor is continuing with the construction to complete contract work and improvements. Please continue to use caution and observe construction warning signs. Whitewater Cutoff Bridge Demolition - Weekly Status

Crews removed approximately 90% of the Whitewater Cutoff Bridge. The contractor is processing concrete spoils and hauling to a disposal site. The road/bridge is no longer accessible for traffic as well as pedestrians. Please DO NOT ENTER the work area.

Johnston Avenue Resurfacing - Weekly Status

Johnston Avenue Resurfacing - Weekly Status

We are continuing with the pavement rehabilitation project to Johnston Avenue from San Jacinto Street to Stanford Street (630 feet easterly) in the East Hemet area until Mid-March 2024. The contractor is continuing with reconstruction of the concrete cross-gutter on Johnston Avenue at Yale Street. Starting this week 1/9/24, the contractor will start reconstructing roadway pavement at various locations on Johnston Avenue between Stanford Street and San Jacinto Street. Please use alternate routes. Use caution and observe construction warning signs while travelling through the work areas. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Johnston Avenue Resurfacing - Weekly Update, Week of January 2, 2024

Work continues on the pavement rehabilitation project of Johnston Avenue from San Jacinto Street to Stanford Street (630 Feet easterly) in the East Hemet area until Mid-March 2024. Crews continue with the reconstruction of concrete cross-gutter on Johnston Avenue at Yale Street and Montclair Drive. Alternate route use is suggested. Please use caution and observe construction warning signs while traveling through the work areas. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Clinton Keith Road connecting Leon Road and Winchester Road (SR 79) in the French Valley/City of Murrieta is now OPEN. Johnston Avenue Resurfacing - Weekly Status

The contractor has started the pavement rehabilitation to Johnston Avenue from San Jacinto Street to Stanford Street (630 feet easterly) in the East Hemet area. Whitewater Cutoff Bridge Demolition - Weekly Status

We are removing Whitewater Cutoff Bridge which was damaged by Hurricane Hillary in August 2023. The road is no longer accessible.

Slurry Seal FY 23-24 Dist. 4 & 5 - Weekly Status

We completed all slurry seal application to Thousand Palms, Hemet, Beaumont, Cherry Valley, and Desert Center areas. The contractor is working on pavement markings. Please use caution while travelling through the work areas.

Clinton Keith Road - Weekly Status and Video

The proposed Clinton Keith Road from Leon Road to Winchester Road is continuing with post construction erosion control, guard railing systems, concrete headwall and dip-crossing, minor concrete work, and traffic signal systems. The contractor is scheduled to remove and replace asphalt pavement at Leon Road/Clinton Keith Road and pave new asphalt (top layer) on the new proposed Clinton Keith Road next week. Please observe construction warning signs and use caution while travelling through the work zone. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Note: Briggs Road from Leon Road to Los Alamos Road is permanently CLOSED (NO ACCESS).”
