Datil Road Resurfacing

Limits: Thelma Avenue to San Miguelito Drive
Length: Approximately 0.5 miles
District: 4
Community: Thousand Palms

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 0.5 miles of Datil Road from Thelma Avenue to San Miguelito Drive. Datil Road is classified as a Local Street in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Datil Road currently ranges from 30-34 feet wide with curb/gutter and dike along various segments of the roadway. The proposed project will include pulverizing the roadway (Thelma Avenue to 150 feet easterly of San Miguelito Drive) and removing the roadway (150 feet easterly of San Miguelito Drive to San Miguelito Drive) followed by overlaying or placing back with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

The proposed project will also include:

  • Construction or reconstruction of some driveways

  • Placement of safety edge, shoulder backing, and asphalt concrete apron

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete dike and concrete curb ramp

  • Utility adjustments

  • Installation of pavement markers

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will not be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.32 feet in the pulverize and overlay treatment areas.
