Sierra Del Sol Resurfacing

Limits: Ramon Road to La Canada Way
Length: Approximately 0.25 miles
District: 4
Community: Thousand Palms

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 0.25 miles of Sierra Del Sol from Ramon Road to La Canada Way. Sierra Del Sol is classified as a Local Street in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Sierra Del Sol currently ranges from 26-73 feet wide with dike and curb/gutter along various segments of the roadway. The proposed project will include removing the roadway (from Ramon Road to 80 feet northerly of Ramon Road) and pulverizing the roadway (from 80 feet northerly of Ramon Road to La Canada Way) followed by overlaying or placing back with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

The proposed project will also include:

  • Construction of asphalt concrete driveways

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete dike, asphalt concrete driveways, and concrete driveways

  • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing

  • Utility adjustments

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will not be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.32 feet in the pulverize and overlay treatment areas.
