Hobson Way Resurfacing

Limits: West Florence Boulevard to 2,680 feet east of De Frain Boulevard
Length: Approximately 6,300 feet
District: 4
Community: East Blythe

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 6,300 feet of Hobson Way from West Florence Boulevard to 2,680 feet east of De Frain Boulevard. Hobson Way is classified as an Arterial Highway in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Hobson Way is a two lane road and currently ranges from 32-71 feet wide with curb/gutter and dike along various segments of the roadway. The proposed project will include removing the roadway (from West Florence Boulevard to 900 feet east of East Florence Boulevard) and pulverizing the roadway (from 900 feet east of East Florence Boulevard to 2,680 feet east of De Frain Boulevard) followed by placing back or overlaying with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of concrete cross gutter, spandrel, and ADA deficient curb ramp

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete dike and overside drain

  • Construction of asphalt concrete driveway

  • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing

  • Utility adjustments

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.40 feet in the pulverize and overlay treatment areas.
