The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 1.7 miles of Pala Road from 105 feet Southerly of Pechanga Road to County of San Diego Line. Pala Road is classified as a Collector in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Pala Road is a two to lane road and currently ranges from 24-34 feet wide with dike along various segments of the roadway. The proposed project will include pulverizing the roadway followed by overlaying with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Full depth reconstruction along portions of Pala Road

  • Construction of asphalt concrete dike and driveways

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete and concrete driveways

  • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing

  • Replacement of culverts

  • Installation of guardrail and traffic detector loops

  • Minor paved shoulder widening

  • Utility/facility adjustments

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way, permits to enter and construct (PEC), or temporary construction easements (TCE) will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will not be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.40’ in the overlay areas.
