The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 2 miles of 52nd Avenue from Monroe Avenue to 751’ West of Jackson Street and 1077’ East of Jackson Street to Van Buren Street. 52nd Avenue is classified as both an Arterial and Urban Arterial in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. 52nd Avenue is a two to three lane road and currently ranges from 28-70 feet wide with dike along various segments of the roadway. The first treatment will include removing the existing county portion of the roadway from only the county side of Monroe St to 751’ West of Jackson St and the 155’ intersection of 52nd Ave and Van Buren St, will be to remove existing a portion of the roadway and place back with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). The second treatment, from 1077’ West of Jackson St to Van Buren St, will be to pulverize down a portion of the roadway and overlay with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete driveway and dike

  • Reconstruction of concrete spandrel, driveway, and non-compliant ADA ramps

  • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing

  • Minor paved shoulder widening

  • Utility adjustments

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way, permits to enter and construct (PEC), or temporary construction easements (TCE) will be required to construct the proposed improvements.
