Calhoun Street Reconstruction

Limits: 790 feet north of 52nd Avenue to 54th Avenue
Length: Approximately 1.2 miles
District: 4
Community: Vista Santa Rosa

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 1.2 miles of Calhoun Street from 790 feet north of 52nd Avenue to 54th Avenue. Calhoun Street is classified as a local road in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Calhoun St is a two lane road and currently ranges 23-24 feet wide. The proposed project will pulverize the roadway and overlay with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete driveway

  • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing

  • Minor paved shoulder widening

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way, permits to enter and construct (PEC), or temporary construction easements (TCE) will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will not be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.40’ in the overlay areas.
