El Sobrante Resurfacing Project

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Riverside County Transportation Department will resurface approximately 5.8 miles of roadway on  El Sobrante Road from La Sierra Avenue to Cajalco Road in the Lake Mathews community. The project starts with single lane closures and flagging for motorists, followed by a 2-week full road closure.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Nighttime Lane Closures
7 p.m. to 5 a.m. | Nightly through mid-February
Nighttime lane closures are planned on El Sobrante Rd. from Cajalco Rd. to one mile east of McAllister St. Traffic flaggers will assist motorists through the construction area.

2-Week Road Closure
Saturday, February 7 – Saturday, February 21
Work hours during the road closure: Daily | 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • El Sobrante Rd. will be closed between La Sierra Ave. and Willow Dr.

  • To access the Victoria Grove neighborhood, motorists may use Blackburn Rd. or westbound El Sobrante Ave. to Willow Dr. Please follow posted directional signage.

  • Trucks and non-residential motorists should use the posted detour via La Sierra Ave. to Cajalco Rd.

What to Expect

  • Neighbors can expect typical construction noise and temporary nighttime lighting until 10 p.m.

  • Delays are expected in and around the project area; please allow extra travel time.


 

Neighboring Projects

The Cajalco Road Guardrail Project from Temescal Canyon Road to La Sierra Avenue is expected to begin Monday, Dec. 1. The project teams are working together to coordinate schedules and traffic control.
