ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project will resurface approximately 5.8 miles of roadway on El Sobrante Road from La Sierra Avenue to Cajalco Road in the Lake Matthews community. Expected completion is mid-February, 2026.
2-week ROAD CLOSURE planned on El Sobrante Road
Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 a.m., through Saturday, Dec. 20 at 5 p.m.
Work hours during the road closure are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
· El Sobrante Road will be closed for two weeks from La Sierra Avenue to just before McAllister Parkway; the intersections will remain open.
· To access to the Victoria Grove neighborhood residents must use El Sobrante Road or McAllister Street, please follow directional signage.

Nighttime lane closure work hours
7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights
· Crews will close one lane at a time on a portion of El Sobrante Road during nighttime work from 500 feet east of McAllister Parkway to Cajalco Road.
· Traffic flaggers will assist motorists through the construction area.
What to expect
· Motorists can expect gravel roads and rough pavement on the roadway during construction.
· Reduced speed limit to 25 MPH in the project area.
· Neighbors can expect noise typically associated with construction and additional roadway lighting during nighttime work.
Neighboring Projects
The Cajalco Road Guardrail Project from Temescal Canyon Road to La Sierra Avenue is expected to begin Monday, Dec. 1. The project teams are working together to coordinate schedules and traffic control.
