Mecca Park & Greening Project Update

Work continues on the Community of Mecca Park and Greening Project, which will bring 175 new trees, a full irrigation system, and a beautiful new park at 2nd Ave., Hammond Rd., and 66th Ave.

Crews are currently:

โœ… Installing curb & gutter

โœ… Building sidewalks

โœ… Grading the park area

โœ… Installing irrigation on various streets

๐Ÿ’ก Note: Due to high temperatures, crews are starting work at 5:00 AM.

Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge Update

๐Ÿšง Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge Update โ€“ French Valley ๐Ÿšง

Construction is moving forward on the new pedestrian bridge over French Valley Channel! This bridge will connect the French Valley Library to Susan LaVorgna Elementary School, providing a safe path for both pedestrians and bicyclists, with emergency vehicle access only.

Crews are currently building the falsework (temporary support structure) and the project is on schedule for completion in Summer 2026.

North Shore Road Reconstruction Update

๐Ÿšง Road Reconstruction Update โ€“ North Shore/Desert Beach ๐Ÿšง

Weโ€™ve officially started the reconstruction of 68th Ave., 70th Ave., 72nd Ave., Bay Dr., Commerce St., Compass Dr., Seaview Dr., and Vander Veer Rd.

Crews are currently working on new concrete improvements, with the project expected to be complete by November/December 2025.

๐Ÿšง Pauba Road and De Luz Road - Weekly Status ๐Ÿšง

๐Ÿ”จ Pauba Rd Improvements (Aug 4โ€“week of): Crews are continuing road enhancements between Via Del Monte and Calle Contento. This weekโ€™s focus includes:

Drainage system upgrades
Waterline connections
Asphalt pavement removal
Roadway grading

๐Ÿ‘ท Expect one-lane traffic with flagging operations at multiple spots during work hours. Please drive safely and follow all construction signage and staff directions.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ De Luz Rd Culvert Replacement: Work is temporarily paused. Crews are scheduled to resume the week of August 11th. Until then, use caution when crossing steel-plated sections and watch for signage.

๐Ÿšง Roadway Enhancements Are Coming! ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Weโ€™re kicking off an asphalt pavement preservation (Slurry Seal) and curb ramp replacement program across various streets in the County of Riverside from August 4 through December 2025.

No Parking signs posted with actual work dates

Clark St Resurfacing Update - Mead Valley

Road improvements are ongoing on Clark St from Martin St to Nandina Ave in the Mead Valley community. During construction hours (7:00 AM to 6:00 PM), Clark St will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations in place.

โš ๏ธ Expect intermittent lane closures and detours throughout the day to allow for paving work โ€” residential access will remain available.

Exciting progress is underway! We're continuing construction on the Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge over French Valley Channel, bridging a critical gap in pedestrian access.

๐Ÿ“ Once complete, the bridge will connect:

French Valley Library (NW side)

Susan LaVorgna Elementary School (SE corner of Skyview Rd & Via Santiago/Algarve Ave)

๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšฒ Designed for pedestrians and cyclists, the bridge will exclude regular vehicular traffic, except for emergency services.

**Upcoming Road Closure โ€“ Wood Road**

Heads up, Riverside County!

Wood Road will be **closed to thru traffic** between Mariposa Ave and Markham St

Closure begins **August 1, 2025** and ends **October 1, 2025**

Suggested alternate route: **Parsons Road**, located just east of Wood Road

This is part of the **Woodcrestโ€“Rinehart Acres Drainage & Street Improvements Project**, led by the Riverside County Flood Control & Water Conservation District

Final detour plan is still in progressโ€”stay tuned for updates.

โœ… Concrete placement for the drainage structure and retaining wall is complete.


๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Next up: installing cable railing, finishing the decorative wall, paving new asphalt, and more enhancements.
