De Palma Road Resurfacing

Limits: Santiago Canyon Road to Horsethief Canyon Road
Length: Approximately 1.4 miles
District: 1
Community: Horsethief Canyon

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 1.4 miles of De Palma Road from Santiago Canyon Road to Horsethief Canyon Road. De Palma Road is classified as a Major Highway in the County of Riverside General Plan. De Palma Road is a two lane road and currently ranges from 29-80 feet wide with dike at various segments of the roadway. The proposed improvements consist of pulverizing the roadway width and dirt shoulder, then overlaying the pulverized material with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete dike and overside drain

  • Replacement of guardrail

  • Placement of safety edge, shoulder backing, miscellaneous asphalt concrete, railings, and barricades.

  • Utility adjustments

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Remove/Salvage and replacement of signs

No additional right-of-way or temporary construction easements will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will raise existing roadway profile by 0.45 feet.
