Cajalco Road Resurfacing

Limits: Alexander Street to Brown Street
Length: Approximately 1,800 feet
District: 1
Community: Mead Valley

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 1,800 feet of Cajalco Raod from Alexander Street to Brown Street. Cajalco Road is classified as an Expressway in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Cajalco Road is a two lane road and currently ranges from 36-50 feet wide with dirt shoulders. The proposed project will include sealing up cracks followed by overlaying the existing roadway with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Localized dig outs of removing the roadway and placing back HMA prior to overlay

  • Construction of asphalt concrete driveways

  • Reconstruction of asphalt concrete ramps

  • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will not be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.17 feet.

The proposed project will tie into and be constructed along with the Cajalco Safety Interim Project.
