Question: When is my street scheduled to be slurry sealed?

Answer: The contractor will install 'No Parking' signs on your street 48 hours before commencing the work.

 Question: Where can I park my vehicle while the slurry seal is being applied on my street?

Answer: You may park on any street where there is no 'No Parking' sign posted.

 Question: For how long will my street be closed to traffic, and when can I drive over the new slurry?

Answer: The street closures will be between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the day that the slurry seal is scheduled. You can drive on the slurry seal as soon as the No Parking signs and street closure are removed.

 Question: The previously scheduled slurry seal work on my street was canceled. When can we expect it to be rescheduled and completed?

Answer: In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the scheduled slurry seal may be canceled. Should this occur, the contractor will reschedule the work and provide advance notification.

 Question: Vehicles drove over the new slurry seal too soon, and now there are tire tracks on the pavement surface. Does the slurry seal have to be redone?

Answer: Some tire tracks and imperfections will gradually smooth out once traffic drives over the surface. Once the slurry-sealed is completed, county staff will revisit the streets to address any remaining issues.

 Question: The slurry seal is scheduled on our trash pickup day. Is it possible to reschedule the work?

Answer: The contractor is responsible for coordinating the work schedule with the Waste Collection Company. If the work is scheduled on the same day as your trash pickup day, the contractor might request an early trash pickup for that specific day.

Question: Our curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveway approach, etc., have sustained damage for a while now. Is it possible to address these repairs within the scope of the current slurry seal contract?

Answer: We cannot repair these items as part of the slurry seal projects. Slurry seal projects are specific preventative maintenance efforts designed to protect the pavement and extend its lifespan. Requests for repairs to address these issues can be submitted via the county’s website for assessment and repair.

 Question: The slurry seal operation has begun on my street, but it has not yet been completed. Will the contractor return to finish the slurry seal?

Answer: Yes, staging of the area for slurry seal may be necessary on your street, or the contractor may encounter circumstances preventing the completion of the work. In such cases, the contractor will notify residents and return to complete the job.

 Question: I have a special need. Is it feasible to reschedule the work on my street or make accommodations?

Answer: Please reach out to the county at 951-955-6885 to discuss your need, and we will assist you to the best of our ability.

 Question: The county performed slurry seal on my neighboring streets, but my street was not included. Why?

Answer: Your street is adjacent to the slurry seal area, but it may lie outside the specified project area. Alternatively, it may be a private street outside the county jurisdiction.

 Question: My business is within the current slurry seal project area. Will access to my business be restricted?

Answer: No, your business access will be maintained by the contractor throughout the project.
