Varner Road Resurfacing

Limits: Ramon Road to 200 feet north of Metroplex Drive
Length: Approximately 2,300 feet
District: 4
Community: Thousand Palms

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 2,300 feet of Varner Road from Ramon Road to 200 feet north of Metroplex Drive. Varner Road is classified as an Arterial Road in the County of Riverside General Plan. Varner Road is already improved to ultimate width throughout the project limits and has curb/gutter and sidewalk on each side of the roadway. The proposed project will include removing the existing roadway, sealing cracks, then overlaying with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).  The project also proposes to reconstruct a portion of the eastbound number two lane.

Additional improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of damaged under sidewalk drains, curb & gutter, sidewalk, spandrel, and curb ramps

  • Utility adjustments

  • Striping of roadway, including

  • pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way or temporary construction easements will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will not raise the existing roadway profile.
