We’re making steady progress on the new park and greening initiative at the corner of 2nd Ave, Hammond Rd, and 66th Ave! This exciting project will bring 175 new trees 🌲, a full irrigation system, and a vibrant new park space to the Community of Mecca.

🌳 Mecca Park & Greening Project Update 🌳
Work continues on the Community of Mecca Park and Greening Project, which will bring 175 new trees, a full irrigation system, and a beautiful new park at 2nd Ave., Hammond Rd., and 66th Ave.
Crews are currently:
✅ Installing curb & gutter
✅ Building sidewalks
✅ Grading the park area
✅ Installing irrigation on various streets
💡 Note: Due to high temperatures, crews are starting work at 5:00 AM.
⚠️ Please follow construction warning signs and use caution in the area.

✅ Work hours: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM

We started the construction of Community of Mecca Park and Greening (planting trees) on 16 June 2025. The project is to plant about 175 new trees including associated irrigation system and to construct new proposed park at the corner of 2nd Ave, Hammond Rd. and 66th Ave. in the Community of Mecca. Estimated completion in September 2025 (with 90 days monitoring new plants). Please observe construction warning signs and use caution while travelling through the area.
