Limits: 58th Avenue to Airport Boulevard
Length: Approximately 1 mile
District: 4
Community: Thermal

The County of Riverside Transportation Department proposes to rehabilitate approximately 1 mile of Polk Street from 58th Avenue to Airport Boulevard. Polk Street is classified as an Arterial Road in the County of Riverside General Plan. Polk Street is a two lane road that varies from 24-53 feet wide with curb/gutter and sidewalk at various segments of the roadway. The proposed improvements consist of pulverizing the roadway width and overlaying the pulverized material with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

  • Construction of concrete curb/gutter, sidewalk, driveway approach, and curb ramp

  • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing

  • Utility adjustments

  • Detector loops

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way or temporary construction easements will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will raise the existing roadway profile by 0.17 feet.
