Mesa Drive Reconstruction

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to reconstruct approximately 0.25 miles of Mesa Drive from Bellwood Drive to Black Rock Road / Hobson Way. Mesa Drive is classified as a Secondary Highway in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Mesa Drive is a two lane road and currently ranges from 30-84 feet wide with dike along various segments of the roadway. The proposed project will include removing the roadway followed by placing back Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Additional improvements include:

• Reconstruction of asphalt concrete dike and overside drain

• Reconstruction of concrete curb and ADA deficient curb ramp

• Placement of safety edge

• Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

• Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will not raise the existing roadway profile.
