Resurfacing Projects

Central Avenue Resurfacing

Limits: Menifee Road to Rosary Avenue
Length: Approximately 0.75 miles
District: 5
Community: Nuevo

The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 0.75 miles of Central Avenue from Menifee Road to Rosary Avenue. Central Avenue is classified as a local road in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Central Avenue is a two lane road and currently ranges from 23-41 feet wide. The proposed project will remove existing asphalt and place back with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).


Additional improvements include:

  • Construction of driveways

  • Reconstruction of driveway and cross gutter

  • Drainage improvements, including reconstruction of existing irregular berm; construction of new dikes, over side drains, and down drains

  • Utility adjustments

  • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors

  • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs

No additional right-of-way, permits to enter and construct (PEC), or temporary construction easements (TCE) will be required to construct the proposed improvements.

Environmental Clearance: April 2021
Final Design: February 2021
Construction Start: September 2021
Construction Completion: November 2021

Central Ave. and Ramona Ave. Resurfacing - Weekly Status

Contractor just completed the replacement of new asphalt pavement on Central Avenue and Ramona Avenue. We will continue with other improvements along the shoulder. Please use caution while travelling through the work zone.
