Mockingbird Canyon Road Construction Update 

Last week, crews completed drainage, curb and gutter work at Via Frontera Road. 

· During July 1-3, crews will remove and replace asphalt in the intersections on Mockingbird Canyon Road. Motorists may experience rough road in the project area. 

· Single lane closures are planned on Mockingbird Canyon Road with one lane open for through traffic. Flaggers will assist motorists through the closure. Please plan for delays or use an alternate route. 

· Please reduce speed and drive with caution in the construction zone.

Las cuadrillas completaron los trabajos de drenaje, bordillos y canaletas en Via Frontera Road. 

· Del 1 al 3 de julio, las cuadrillas quitarán y reemplazarán el asfalto en las intersecciones de Mockingbird Canyon Road. Los automovilistas pueden experimentar caminos en mal estado en el área del proyecto.

From June 17, 2024 to August 17, 2024, crews are working on Clinton Keith Road between Winchester Road and Leon Road in the French Valley/Murrieta area. The contractor will remove and replace concrete at both ends of French Valley Creek Bridge. Traffic will be reduced to one lane per direction. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs. Construction Update: Crews will lower sewer manholes throughout the project and complete storm drain and cross gutter work at Via Frontera Rd.

We continue the reconstruction of 48th Avenue from Van Buren Blvd. to Grapefruit Blvd. in the Carver Tract Community and City of Indio/Coachella area. The crews are doing major roadway exaction, constructing a dry well, and some temporary fencing. MOCKINGBIRD CANYON ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT

Starting Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the crews will start the reconstruction of Mockingbird Canyon Road from Van Buren Blvd. to El Sobrante Road in the Community of Woodcrest. The project is anticipated to complete in September 2024. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and follow directions from traffic control staff while travelling through work zone.

Construction Begins: Wed., June 12

The County of Riverside project will repair and resurface 4 miles of roadway on Mockingbird Canyon Road from El Sobrante Rd. to Van Buren Blvd.

Traffic Impacts

Expect ½-mile lane closures on Mockingbird Canyon Rd., flaggers will be assisting vehicles through the closure.

The speed limit will be reduced throughout the construction zone.

We are continuing with the pavement rehabilitation project to Johnston Avenue from San Jacinto Street to Stanford Street in the East Hemet area. Crews are scheduled to apply Slurry Seal (wet surface) on Johnston Avenue from Stanford St. to Dartmouth St. (ROAD CLOSED for one day) and preparing for the installation of traffic stripe and pavement markings. Slurry Seal is scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2024.
