Chip Seal, Weekly Schedule, Week of November 6, 2023
Field work completed to date:
· Traffic control was set up daily per the approved traffic control plans for construction activities.
· Finished reconstruction of ADA curb ramps. Reconstructed 36 curb ramps and repaired 5 with surface-mounted truncated domes and removed “lips” at the flowline.
· Completed replacing asphalt pavement at various locations.
· Finished applying herbicides on the pavement for weed abatement.
· Started crack seal/crack fill and removing traffic stripe in the Hemet and Homeland areas.
We completed the reconstruction of Sycamore Canyon Road including pavement delineations and roadside signs from Central Avenue to Fair Isle Drive.
The contractor adjusted utilities (manholes) to new road grades. The contractor is scheduled to “Bump grind” (pavement smoothness) and fog seal the asphalt pavement on November 6th and 7th.
Please observe construction warning signs and follow traffic control personnel’s directions. We recommend using alternate routes if possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We have completed about 95% of roadway improvements in the Idyllwild area. The contractor is continuing shoulder backing on Fern Valley Road and South Circle Drive. Please observe construction warning signs, follow flaggers’ directions, and expect delays while travelling through. We are trying our best to accommodate the traffic while facing challenges due to narrow road conditions. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
