On Saturday, Aug. 3, from , 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. crews will complete final paving on Mockingbird Canyon Rd., south of Harley John Rd. to Markham St. 

Expect single lane closures with flaggers assisting motorists. Please plan for 10-to-15-minute traffic delays and take alternate routes. 

Drive with caution and reduce speed while driving in the construction zone.

Nighttime Lane Closures

Wednesday, July 31, and August 1

10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Nighttime lane closures are planned from Detroit to Citrus streets. One lane will be open on Hamner Avenue during nighttime work. Traffic flaggers will assist motorists through the construction zone.

Please reduce speed and watch for crews working in the area.

Expect delays, please use alternate routes.

Wednesday, 7/31 (daytime): Remove all Crash Cushions and K-Rails. Traffic control devices (cones/signs) shall be in place of removed items.

Wednesday Night: Starting at 9:00 PM. Setting up road closures for westbound Clinton Keith Road at Winchester Road and lanes closures for eastbound. Detour route: Winchester Road/MacGillis Road/Leon Road.

Crews will grind/remove 2” of existing pavement and replace with new asphalt to match new approach slab grades at French Valley Bridge. In addition, the contractor will replace existing asphalt at Crosswalk crossing Clinton Keith Road at Winchester Road to comply with ADA.

Traffic control will be managed by Security Paving.

Work continues with the reconstruction and widening of 48th Avenue from Van Buren Blvd. to Grapefruit Blvd. in the Carver Tract Community and City of Indio/Coachella area. We are doing major roadway excavation, new concrete Curb & Gutter, Sidewalk, Cross-Gutter, and relocating existing utilities. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and follow directions from traffic control personnel. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Final paving will be completed at the end of the project.

We started the replacement of asphalt pavement including concrete dip crossing, cross-gutter, and curb & gutter on Mission Lakes Blvd, Little Morongo Road, and Langlois Road in the Desert Edge area. Estimated completion is October 2024. Crews will "CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC" a section of Mission Lakes Blvd. from Warwick Drive to Little Morongo Road. Please follow detour signage from Monday 7/22 to Monday 7/29. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and follow directions from traffic control personnel. Mockingbird Canyon Road Resurfacing Project Update 

This week crews will remove existing roadway on Mockingbird Canyon Rd. from El Sobrante Rd. to Winters Ln./Markham St. and replace with the first layer of asphalt concrete paving. The final layer of roadway will be completed through the finalization of the project. 

Expect traffic delays due to lane closures. One lane of traffic will be available for both directions in the construction area. Flaggers will assist motorists through the closure. Please plan for delays or use alternate routes.

Please reduce speed and drive with caution in the construction zone. 

Esta semana, las cuadrillas eliminarán la carretera existente en Mockingbird Canyon Rd. de la calle El Sobrante. hasta Winter Ln./Markham St. y reemplazar con la primera capa de pavimento de concreto asfáltico. La capa final de la carretera se completará cuando finalice el proyecto. 

Espere retrasos en el tráfico debido al cierre de carriles. Un carril de tránsito estará disponible para ambas direcciones en el área de construcción. Los abanderados ayudarán a los automovilistas durante el cierre. Planifique los retrasos o utilice rutas alternativas.
