Mockingbird Canyon Road | Week of August 12 

This week, the contractor will be working on driveway tie ins in various locations on Mockingbird Canyon Rd. with smaller lane closures in place. 

Flaggers will assist motorists through the closure. Please drive with caution and reduce speed while driving in the construction zone.

We continue with the reconstruction and widening of 48th Avenue from Van Buren Blvd. to Grapefruit Blvd. in the Carver Tract Community and City of Indio/Coachella area. Crews are on schedule with the roadway reconstruction. Starting August 12th, traffic will be changed to outside lanes. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and follow directions from traffic control personnel. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We completed the reconstruction of concrete cross-gutter and curb & gutter on Dillon Road and Bubbling Wells Road in the Community of Southeast Desert Hot Springs area. Crews are preparing for removal & replacement of existing asphalt on Dillon Road (from Palm Drive to Mountain View Road) and Bubbling Wells Road (from 20th Avenue and Dillon Road). We anticipate completing this project in early October 2024. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and follow directions from traffic control personnel. CONSTRCUTION ALERT: Monday-Saturday, Aug. 5-10, Mockingbird Canyon Road project

This week, crews will place the final layer of asphalt on Mockingbird Canyon Rd. between Markham St. and Van Buren Blvd.

Expect lane closures with one lane open for traffic in both directions and possible delays up to 10 minutes. Flaggers will assist motorists through the closure.

Please drive with caution and reduce speed while driving in the construction zone.

We completed the replacement of asphalt pavement to Mission Lakes Blvd., Little Morongo Rd., and Langlois Rd. in the Desert Edge area . Crews are scheduled to work on shoulder and utility adjustment on the roadway. HAMNER AVENUE NIGHTTIME LANE CLOSURE

Friday night, Aug. 2 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

An additional nighttime lane closure is necessary from Detroit to Citrus streets to complete this week's bridge repair work. Only one lane will be open for traffic; vehicles will be flagged through the area, one direction at a time. Expect delays, please use alternate routes.

Construction Update: Single lane closures are planned in both directions on Van Buren Blvd. from Rutile St. to Connector Rd. the week of August 5.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, from , 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. crews will complete final paving on Mockingbird Canyon Rd., south of Harley John Rd. to Markham St. 

Expect single lane closures with flaggers assisting motorists. Please plan for 10-to-15-minute traffic delays and take alternate routes.

10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Nighttime lane closures are planned from Detroit to Citrus streets. One lane will be open on Hamner Avenue during nighttime work. Traffic flaggers will assist motorists through the construction zone.

Please reduce speed and watch for crews working in the area.

Wednesday, 7/31 (daytime): Remove all Crash Cushions and K-Rails. Traffic control devices (cones/signs) shall be in place of removed items.

Wednesday Night: Starting at 9:00 PM. Setting up road closures for westbound Clinton Keith Road at Winchester Road and lanes closures for eastbound. Detour route: Winchester Road/MacGillis Road/Leon Road.

Crews will grind/remove 2” of existing pavement and replace with new asphalt to match new approach slab grades at French Valley Bridge. In addition, the contractor will replace existing asphalt at Crosswalk crossing Clinton Keith Road at Winchester Road to comply with ADA.

Traffic control will be managed by Security Paving.

Final paving will be completed at the end of the project. 

Please drive with caution and reduce speed while driving in the construction zone. Expect traffic delays.
