Weekly Construction Update – De Luz Road

Crews continue work on drainage improvements along De Luz Road. During the week of April 21, 2025, potholing operations will take place to locate underground utilities. Expect De Luz Road to be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic at multiple locations during working hours.

Please follow all posted construction signs, obey traffic control staff, and use extra caution while traveling through the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Construction Notice – A Street and Nuevo Road Improvements

Construction is underway on the reconstruction of approximately 0.8 miles of asphalt pavement along A Street (from Nuevo Road to Harvill Avenue) and Nuevo Road (from A Street to 1,472 feet south of A Street) in the Mead Valley area of Riverside County. Work is expected to be completed by June 2025.

The contractor has removed the existing asphalt pavement on both A Street and Nuevo Road and is scheduled to complete paving next week, in coordination with local schools’ Spring Break.


Please observe all posted construction signs, watch for equipment and crews, and use extra caution while traveling through the area.


Important Note: The roadway is narrow, with loose gravel and shifting conditions during work hours. Drive carefully and be prepared to share the road.

Briggs Road Construction Project Starting April 28

Briggs Road Construction Project Starting April 28

The County of Riverside Transportation Department will begin road repairs and overlay work on Briggs Road from Golden J Street to Pat Road starting April 28.

This project includes removing damaged pavement sections, compacting the sub-grade in those areas, and applying a new overlay along the full project limits. To ensure safety and efficiency, Briggs Road will be closed to through traffic during construction. Flaggers and a pilot car will be on-site to guide local traffic safely through the work zone.

Electronic message boards will be installed on April 21 to alert drivers of the upcoming work. These boards will be placed on Menifee Road (south of Scott Road) and at Pat Road.

Construction is expected to be completed by mid-June. For any questions, concerns, or comments, please contact Highway Operations at (951) 955-6899.

Crews are continuing the drainage improvements on De Luz Rd. Throughout the week of 04/14/2025, the crews will be performing potholing operations to locate underground utilities. De Luz Rd will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations during working hours at multiple locations.

⚠️ Lane closures planned on northbound Van Buren; watch for large trucks traveling through the project area 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Northbound Van Buren Blvd (Limonite Ave to Rutile St) 

Wednesday, April 16 – Friday, April 18, 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

- The closures are necessary for oversized trucks to deliver construction materials to continue work on the railroad track

- Reduce speeds and watch for large trucks in the area 

This information may change due to weather or field conditions. 

Plan ahead, expect delays, and use alternate routes when possible.

Grand Avenue Sidewalk - Weekly Status

We are continuing the construction of sidewalk on Grand Avenue from Adelfa Street to Blackwell Boulevard and along the north side of Grand Avenue between Brechtel Street and Corydon Road. Anticipated to complete in June 2025. Crews are working on concrete curb & gutter and preparing soil for new proposed sidewalk. Good Hope Area and Theda Street - Weekly Status

We are constructing sidewalks and repairing roads at Steele Peak Drive, Palm Street, Mountain Avenue, and Theda Street in Good Hope Community area. Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge - Weekly Status

We are continuing with the construction of Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge over French Valley Channel in the Community of French Valley. The bridge will cross a gap along Skyview Road where there is no existing road crossing at French Valley Channel. The bridge will provide a path between the French Valley Library, located on the northwest side of the bridge, and the Susan LaVorgna Elementary School, located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Skyview Road and Via Santiago/Algarve Avenue. It will provide multipurpose access for both pedestrians and bicyclists, with no vehicular travel other than access for emergency vehicles. Crews are currently working on drainage systems and preparing work area for bridge construction.



Estimate completion: Summer 2026

No traffic impact. We will monitor and minimize construction noise to adjacent neighborhood. Thank you for your understanding.



"A" Street and Nuevo Road Resurfacing - Weekly Status

We started the reconstruction of an approximate 0.8-mile segment of existing asphalt concrete (AC) pavement of A Street from Nuevo Road to Harvill Avenue and Nuevo Road from A Street to 1472 Feet South of A Street in the Community of Mead Valley of Riverside County. Anticipated to complete in June 2025. Crews are scheduled to remove existing asphalt pavement on “A” Street starting 4/14/2025. Please observe construction warning signs, construction equipment movement, and use caution while travelling through. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
