Project Milestone
The Mayor Berwin Hanna Bridge on Hamner Avenue is now OPEN
The newly constructed 1,200-foot-long, six-lane bridge over the Santa Ana River is now open in both directions. Crews will continue working on the bridge barrier railing, the multipurpose trail, irrigation, landscaping, and other punch list items through early Fall 2024.
Watch for intermittent lane closures and traffic control in the project area.

We completed pavement replacement and most improvements on Dillon Road from Bubbling Wells Road to Palm Drive in the Community of Southeast Desert Hot Springs area. Next week, crews are scheduled to pave new asphalt on Bubbling Wells Road from Dillon Road to 20th Avenue. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and follow directions from traffic control personnel. If possible, please use alternate routes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Lake Mathews Drive - Emergency Road Repair
Crews are scheduled to install subsurface drainage system and replace a damaged asphalt pavement section (400 Feet long) on Lake Mathews Drive between Cajalco Road and Gavillan Road.
Construction schedule: 9/3 to 9/10
Construction hours: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Daily
***Note: Saturday, 9/7 – Lake Mathews Drive is CLOSED to through traffic due to deep roadway excavation and narrow road width. Please follow Detours signs.

Westbound Rutile Street: The left turn pocket will be closed. Motorists may use the middle lane to turn left onto Van Buren Boulevard.
Eastbound Rutile Street: The lane next to the median will be closed and both lanes of traffic will shift to accommodate the closure.
Southbound Van Buren Boulevard at Jurupa Connector Road
Daily | 8:45 to 3 p.m.
Alternating southbound Van Buren Boulevard lanes will close, and one southbound lane of traffic will be open. Plan for delays in the area.
Jurupa Connector Road at Jurupa Road

Week of August 19 - 23 Dillon Rd, Bubbling Wells Resurfacing UPDATE
We completed 95% of pavement replacement and other improvements on Dillon Road from Bubbling Wells Road to Palm Drive in the Community of Southeast Desert Hot Springs area. Next week, crews are scheduled to adjust manholes, paint pavement delineations, minor traffic signal work, and shoulder backing. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and follow directions from traffic control personnel. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
