Construction Alert

The Flood Control District will be repairing stormdrain damaged from the recent storms starting next week.

Repairs on the East Ontario Ave Stormdrain Sinkhole can be expected:

April 24, 2023, through May 8, 2023

Monday through Friday, 7 am – 7 pm

Slurry Seal Dist. 1,2,4,5 UPDATES

Slurry Seal FY 22-23 Dist. 1 & 2

We completed concrete curb ramps in the Lake Elsinore area and Coronita areas. Upcoming work schedule as follows:

Lake Elsinore area: Pavement repairs to various streets and scheduled for the application of new slurry seal to Audelo Street, Patrick Court, and Monty Court on Saturday April 22, 2023.

Coronita area: Crack seal to existing asphalt pavement to various streets. Slurry Seal application for Paseo Grande Road is scheduled on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Home Gardens area: Replace concrete curb ramps.

 

Please follow construction warning signs and DO NOT park vehicles on street with posted “NO PARKING” signs. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Slurry Seal FY 22-23 Dist 4 & 5

The contractor completed slurry seal application to Desert Hot Springs area & Airport Blvd. (Thermal area), and Cabazon area. Scheduled to complete all traffic stripe and pavement markings on Saturday, April 15, 2023. The project is temporary suspended until May 14, 2023 due to low temperature at night for Reche Canyon Road and Gilman Hot Springs Road.

Girard Street Resurfacing - Weekly Status 4/10/23

The contractor is continuing with the removal & replacement of the existing concrete cross-gutter, spandrels, curb ramps, and asphalt pavement on Girard Street improvements from Stetson Avenue towards Florida Avenue in the East Hemet area. There will be road closures to through traffic due to wide cross-gutter replacement work and pavement reconstruction. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, follow detour signs, and expect delays while travelling through the area. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Stetson Avenue Resurfacing - Weekly Status 4/10/23

The contractor is continuing with replacing the existing asphalt pavement on Stetson Avenue from Santa Fe Street to Hemet Street in the East Hemet area. The construction progress is moving as planned. Please use caution, observe construction warning signs, and expect delays while travelling through the area. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Viejo Drive Gully Repairs - Weekly Status 4/10/23

The contractor resumed the construction of new proposed drain and slope/gully on Grant Avenue in the Valle Vista Community. The project is moving along well. There is no major impact to traffic. Please be aware of truck traffic on Grant Avenue south of Florida Avenue during normal working hours. Thank you.

Slurry Seal FY 22-23, District 4 & 5 Weekly Status, week ending March 30, 2023 - The contractor is actively applying slurry seal to the Desert Hot Springs area and is scheduled to install pavement delineations this upcoming week to complete the slurry seal areas. Expanded Work Hours-Hamner Ave Bridge & Widening Project

TRAFFIC FLAGGING:

MONDAY, APRIL 3, 2023

9 A.M. - 2 P.M.

Hamner Ave. from Citrus St. to Detroit St.

Southbound traffic flagging, crews will work on the shoulder.

EXTENDED WORK HOURS:

BEGINNING MONDAY, APRIL 3, 2023 - through project completion, expected winter 2023/2024.

Monday - Friday, some planned Saturday work.

5 a.m. - 10 p.m.

To maintain the current schedule for the Hamner Avenue Bridge and Widening Project, the contractor will extend working hours beginning April 3, 2023. Crews will make every effort to minimize disruption to the nearby neighbors, motorists and community.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Neighbors and motorists can expect usual noise associated with construction including large machinery motors running, back-up alerts and crews communicating. Overhead lighting will be in place for evening operations.

Construction Notice, Week of April 3-7, 2023, Clinton Keith Road Extension Project

Week of April 3-7, 2023 - Crews will continue working on the culvert, on the bridge structure & widen SR-79 lanes.

The proposed Clinton Keith Road from Leon Road to Winchester Road is continuing slow due to recent rain events and site conditions. The contractor is to resume, normal weather permitting, with planned construction activities such as French Valley Creek Bridge, installation of Arch Culverts, drainage systems, traffic signal systems, and the new roadway structure including Winchester Road widening.  Note: Briggs Road from Leon Road to Los Alamos Road is permanently CLOSED.

Ramona Expressway Median - Weekly Status

The contractor completed about 65% of new proposed concrete median for Ramona Expressway Median from Rider Street (3/4 Miles easterly) towards Warren Road in the Community of Nuevo, Lakeview, and Gilman Springs. We will continue the construction from Bridge Street towards Warren Road with a lane Closure Nightly from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM (weather permitting). Please use caution due to new raised median and obey traffic control personnel while travelling through the area.
