The contractor resumed the construction this week due to other emergency construction projects. The traffic signal structures are being constructed. Bridge Street at Ramona Expressway is scheduled to close to through traffic on October 9 and 10 due to major road reconstruction. Please follow Detour signage and observe construction warning signs. We completed all streets in the Idyllwild area and Lawler Alpine Cabins & Park Access Road. The contractor is working on Shoulder improvements, Asphalt Dike, Driveways, and utility facilities adjustments on paved streets (North Circle Drive, South Circle Drive, Saunders Meadow Road, and Fern Valley Road) in the Idyllwild area. Please observe construction warning signs, follow flaggers’ directions, and expect delays while travelling through. We are trying our best to accommodate the traffic while facing challenges due to narrow road conditions. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Fern Valley Road and Humber Park in Idyllwild to be closed for two weeks to motorists, pedestrians and cyclists beginning Sunday, Oct. 1 at 6 a.m.
The planned closure is necessary for public safety while contractors complete road repairs and construct a retaining wall. The narrow roadway and access to Humber Park will be an active construction site blocking all access.
• Parking will not be permitted on Fern Valley Road during the closure.
• Access to businesses and residents will not be impacted.
Trail access from the Humber Park parking lot is closed to Devils Slide Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), and the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail. To access these trails, use the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail trailhead on Tahquitz View Drive. PCT hikers visiting Idyllwild must use the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail and Tahquitz View Drive.
Alternate Trails hikers can visit are the Spitler Creek Trail, Ramona Trail, Cedar Springs Trail, Cactus Springs Trail, Deer Springs Trail, Black Mountain Trail, Marion Mountain Trail, and the Riverside County Idyllwild Park System
